Last month, in conjunction with our Kickstarter campaign, Swananck and our managing director Charley Surridge was lucky enough to be featured in a number of online publications.

A review of the Apollo cricket bat was featured in The Cricketer Magazine’s Good Gear Guide 2018. Being judged to be loveable rogue Liam Gallagher as its celebrity alter ego.  An 8.7 overall rating resulted in Charley proudly passing the guide around her birthday celebrations! Its best attribute – according to The Cricketer’s testers, including former England cricketer Alex Tudor – the Apollo’s pick up and feel.

As the great, great granddaughter of the founder of Stuart Surridge and Co. Ltd. Percy Stuart Surridge, Charley was interviewed by a number of blogs. Charley met the wonderful Raf Nicholson from The CricketHer for an interview, and spoke to Nigel Henderson from Guerilla Cricket for their monthly podcast.

Vintage cricket blog, The Full Toss featured an interview with Charley about the family’s transition from Surridge to Swannack. Profiling the company and our bats, Charley shares her pride in being able to “carry the flag for the old SS heritage.”

The Swannack’s story also featured on Cricket World – who kindly tweeted the Kickstarter campaign out to their 57,000 followers.

And we loved engaging with you more directly over the course February.

With the help of Andrew from St Maur Pictures we produced our own series of videos documenting the company’s history. Exclusive interviews with former Stuart Surridge and Co. Ltd bat designer John Surridge about returning to bat design for Swannack and the opening of the Surridge family archives for a special Off The Mark post.

Early 2018 might have been all about brand awareness, but we have had so much fun and received such an enthusiastic response from bloggers, fans and journalists we are sure to continue to continue sharing the Swannack story. Stay tuned.
